Questions (spoilers)


Why were the survivors in the casino so worried about the soldiers taking all the food? There is more than one casino in Reno and all of them would surely have food pantries of their own.

What, the casino they were in didn't have a security office with weapons in it? They have to get a gun off of a zombie security guard.

With all of those abandoned vehicles outside the casino with the keys still in them, they grab a SMART car from a locked parking garage.

With all of that bottled alcohol, nobody thinks to make Molotov cocktails to burn/kill the zombies.

The basement storage room door lock. At the beginning, when the power went out, they couldn't open the door. Only after the power came back on could they unlock it. But at the end, after the bombs go off and kill the power again, they are able to get out of the room with no problem.

Okay, we're dealing with a ZA, and you want continuity? LOL

Granted, there would be other places stocked with food, but the problem is how to get there without getting bit when you're outnumbered and unarmed.

They got the gun off a cop from the beginning of the movie, as he was out on the street asking about the search light truck I took him to be a town cop, not a casino guard.

Again, burning walkers doesn't necessarily kill them until the brain kicks out.

I loved the smart car gag, saw it coming from the moment I saw the SC in the opening of the movie. Again, it goes back to having the keys. When was the last time you hot-wired a car? When was the last time you randomly walked up to a car to find it unlocked with the keys in it?

Costco would be a better choice than going into a Casino. A Casino would have food, but not other supplies and certainly not in a small area. If you ever been in some of the casinos, they are large and you would be exposed while carrying food. Better to layout a distraction and draw out the zombies from one place. A tape recorder on a loop with some screaming (or a cell phone) would give you a great distraction. Fire is generally bad, as zombie make catch you or buildings on fire. No one to put the fire out. However, limited use of fire in an emergency maybe warranted.

I am only quarter into the movie, so I will see what the do. So far, I don't have high hopes for these folks. No weapons, not working together, and drinking add up to zombie fodder.

1. A genre doesn't excuse from continuity, unless the film intends to be confusing.

2. What didn't make sense is why the (not soldiers, just jackasses with guns) wanted to rob them in the first place, they were the ones with the guns and mobility, they didn't need anyone's hospitality in the first place. Their entire motivation was nonsensical. Where they mauraders and killers, or were they rescuers? If rescuers, why act like such sh!theads, keeping them at gun point in the lobby? MAKES NO SENSE. And if marauders, why did they even bother with the pretense? And why did the daughter seem surprised? Also, why were they coming down from mountains if they were coming from the East? Pretty sure the mountains are west of Reno.

3. You're just nitpicking between zombie cop and zombie guard. The point is still valid, there should have been more than 1 gun and 1 axe available. They were far too limited the whole film.

4. They aren't "walkers" this isn't walking dead. They were humans who were radiated. The film presented a number of differences from the classic zombie, such as sleep, animal instinct, territoriality, in addition to actual need for food. When they ran out of people to eat, they began eating each other. This is in contrast to the typical magical zombie that runs off nightmare juice, never actually has to feed, and has infinite energy. Furthermore I believe the point he was making is that they make no effort at all to rid their problem.

5. The smart car gag was funny, and I think it seemed reasonable to try to get a car first before leaving, but there would have to be hundreds of cars out there with keys still in. The action happened in a flash, anyone driving would have immediately been affected, leaving their cars intact with the keys in them.

Yes, the keys may still be in them, but the cars would be left running until the gas was used up. Keys do no good if you have no fuel.

All the cars that weren't on would be full of gas though, and it would be pretty easy to siphon one and fill another.
