I don't think I've every seen anything quiet like The Newsroom.

I was talked into watching it by a colleague, he described the show to me and I wasn't expecting to like it at all.

How wrong I was! The first scene in the first episode and the last scene in the final episode are 2 of best opening/ closing scenes I've ever seen.

I'm struggling to remember 2 weeks of TV I've enjoyed as much as when I was watching The Newsroom.

Yes, I loved how the show wrapped around Charlie putting his prints on everything that happened on the show. This was one of the few finales I approved and was actually enjoyed. Great cast and great writing.

Perfect? I don't know. I don't think I'd give it much more than a 10. What? That's the highest on this site? Oh, well OK then.
But seriously, I totally agree on the start and finish. I don't think I've enjoyed a finale more than this one. Perhaps a tie with West Wing. Hmm, seems they have something in common.

If you enjoyed this show, you should check out Sorkin's The West Wing. I really liked The Newsroom, but The West Wing, in my opinion, is far superior.

It's on my list, but at over 150 episodes theres a few others I want to watch first.

And then there's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I can never decide if the opening scene in Studio 60 or the opening scene in The Newsroom is the greatest television opening ever.

And both shows share a lot of themes.
