Personal inspiration

I know it's not the best TV show ever and isn't to everyone's taste but from a personal POV
It acted as an inspiration. As a TV student looking to break in to the high-pressurised yet exciting world of broadcasting next year,
THE NEWSROOM acted as an inspiration to me (even if I am UK-based).
It was great to properly see a newsroom, TV studio & control-room/gallery works on a prime time programme.
Despite the show's criticisms, it has been praised for it's realistic portrayal of behind-the-scenes TV, which is no surprise to me.
