They all bathed in that lake every few days and by doing it together, and offering to bathe one another, they were performing a bonding act - kinda like feeding eachother with the spoons in their mouth. Their leader was no dummy - it's a way to make everyone in the group more deeply tied to the group. Sex isn't really as important. it takes a lot more trust to allow somebody to hold you as you float in a lake and let several people bathe your bopdy than it does to get a quick bang in the woods from Alexander Skarsgard, as she did once.
