Lack of Chronology?

First, I have to address all the haters out there. I didn't love the movie but thought it was pretty decent, all things considered. I don't always like movies that reveal the end at the beginning but his one generally kept my interest. I liked the story and the characters were watchable. I think the film could have been better had it been a traditional format rather than found footage and all of the abruptness, weird angles, comprised picture that goes with it. I personally am not a fan of found footage - it's a cop-out. My biggest irritation, however, was that the events were presented to the viewer out of order (and I'm not talking about the first minute of the film.) Discovered raw footage would obviously be in time order, by its very nature. But we are supposed to believe we are watching a police evidence video that has been edited and spliced together? While watching the scenes it was difficult to ascertain which moments were part of which days/nights. I would have liked to have seen the story evolve in a linear fashion.

Did anyone else notice this? Or am I wrong?
