Just started watching it...

Can I just say I'm tired of CGI?! I think at this point, I'd rather see someone in a furry suit and makeup!

I miss movies where the monsters were actually creepy looking. Not looking like a cartoon!

Don't you go dying on me!

I'm watching it too. The "abominable snowman" looks just like the "Tasmanian devil" from last week...

HE looks more like Bigfoot from last year and the Tasmanian Devil's love child.

At least Ice Beast used a man in a suit.

reply

I agree Phoebe.
If Syfy was smart, they'd make one of these weekly creature features with a throwback to the "guy in a suit".
If they did that, fans of monster movies would go nuts.
I'm pretty sure with the money they saved on the crappy CGI they could make some pretty good monster fx.
They already have the cheesey b-movie scripts down pat, just get smart with the creature make-up and it's a home run.

reply

I just got done watching it. I agree with having a person in a monster suit every once in a while. The CGI in this one wasn't as bad as some of them though. I just wish they studied up on the military a bit. The "X-soldiers" would have behaved much differently. Lol But overall I enjoyed it.

reply

They could get the same people on Face-off to do the suits

reply

That's a great idea. A lot of talent on that show, often enough. And movies like this would be great show pieces for up and comers to the effects and make up people.

reply

They had one with a killer in a bunny suit. Yes I'm serious.

reply

The movie was bad but entertaining...in places but that CGI was horrible yeah. So I agree, I would have preferred a man in a suit too

Esta es mi firma

Did anybody else notice that the creatures changed size, at one time they appeared to be huge and at other times were small enough to walk through a door.

reply

got another 30 min to go. i think the monster looks like a cross between a bear and an ape. i dont know if its just me but they have plenty of supplies and stuff in that lodge to make traps and weapons. i mean they found a hammer there should also be a saw or knife or axe (which being x military they should already have a knife in their equipment.) make the table legs into spears. they got wood and snow boil some water to throw on them. wait just saw a butcher knife, HELLO! make weapons dumbasses!

Not to sound racist, but I always thought the Abominable Snowman was suppose to be white.
I was kidnapped by a pack of mimes. They performed unspeakable acts on me

reply

Who writes that they shoot at the creature through doors when they have limited bullets, but DON'T shoot at the creature when it is right in front of their guns? Virtually every time! The movie loses any credibility still left when you have to watch that happening.

reply

Not to mention putting a live grenade in the mouth of a creature that's 3 feet away from you and hanging on to your helicopter.

Still, I enjoyed this film. GREAT to see Adrian Paul again (aka Duncan Macleod).

reply

See, that's why I said the writers should have studied a bit of military training and procedure. Lol

reply

He had a lousy american accent, though. The 2 main girls hid their british accents a bit better.

reply

yeah i had to check because some of the cast looked familiar ...why the frack were half of them British,British actors dont usually take roles in turkeys like this

"Nee ta ma duh tyen-shia suo-yo duh run doh gai si"

reply

Yeah, that was driving me crazy too.

reply

I just stared watching and when they started screaming like wussy`s i had to give up ...please god if im ever lost on a mountain i hope no one like this tries to rescue me

"Nee ta ma duh tyen-shia suo-yo duh run doh gai si"

reply

They looked like bears to me. Why wasn't this called Abominable Snowmen? Or maybe just Abominable?
