How's the DVDs and Blu-rays?

Are the special features good? How about the video and audio quality, is it better than on TV? Are there any additional scenes not seen on Television, along with scenes that are seen in some countries, cut in others? Are there differences between the different releases, besides the linear and flashback differences seen in different countries? Has the extended edition come out yet? What is the best version I should it buy? Should I wait?

Answer whatever you can and whatever you like.

The video and audio quality on the Blu-ray is spectacular! The DVD quality is quite poor when compared to Blu-ray, but it's still watchable. I don't think any additional scenes were added. However, there are additional scenes that were edited out of the American and Canadian broadcast. Episodes One to Four is 45-47 minutes; with a total of 187 minutes. The Australian 'extended edition' only included all the special features that were on the Blu-ray. The special features are quite decent for a television miniseries DVD/Blu-ray release. Here's what they include:

Titanic miniseries collector's booklet (Australia only)
Titanic centenary poster (Australia only)
Interactive menus
Episode One Commentary
Behind the scenes documentary
Cast and crew interviews
Trailer
Photo gallery
Construction timelapse
Character breakdowns
Crew profiles
Words of the Titanic documentary
Curse of the Titanic sisters documentary

Personally, I would suggest you buy the 2 or 3 disc edition on Blu-ray. There's no difference between the two, except the 3 disc edition has the DVD of episodes 1-4 with the commentary.

There is a 90 minutes long version of the first episode. Is this one the Blu-ray?

It appears that Sweden edited the miniseries into two 90 minute episodes. It would make sense. I think a lot of European countries edited the miniseries in a linear fashion. So, my guess is that you're watching the linear format.

Why not buy one and find out, taylor92? That would probably double their sales. I'm sure they'd be very grateful!

The miniseries DVD/Blu-ray have already been sold out in Sydney and Melbourne...

So, Jordan, have you seen the "extended" version yet?

Not sure why it's on DVD only, but it's on special for $26 at the moment at JB HiFi.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
