Does anyone else actually quite like this?
While the first episode was weaker, by the end of the second episode I think this is quite good! I think all the negative comments are a bit uncalled for.
It's so hard to do the Titanic in a vaguely original way but I think this is a good job and it focuses on contemporary background stuff like the situation in Ireland (which I'm actually learning about right now so is surprisingly relevant and interesting) and I found the end of Episode 2 really moving! The interaction between the social classes is an interesting focus and although I can see why people say its rushed perhaps its a bit early to judge that since we've only seen two episodes. I think the format of finding out more and more each episode is kind of fun and keeps the classic story interesting and fresh.
I hope the whole of Episode 3 centres around that Italian waiter, mmmm. He can wink at me any day.
