Can someone explain to me the girl Lightoller was speaking with? Was she Miss Gibson? Is there any historical evidence to back this encounter up?
Was I correct in reading into the interaction as a little flirtatious?

She was Dorothy Gibson who was portrayed here as the victim of snobbery from others in first class. There is no evidence to suggest that this was the case or that Lightoller would have flirted with her - which I agree he seemed to be doing as part of his 'charming officer schmoozing the passengers' bit. There is even less evidence to suggest that an officer would have danced with a passenger, or that dancing even happened in first class.

Doubtful. Lightoller was known to be a by-the-book officer so any flirting with the passengers and/or crew would be completely out of character.
