Watched it and I thought the acting was really great!

To see Sam Jackson in Django and then something like this really shows how humble of an actor he is. He shows a range of emotion that I haven't seen in a while. Really enjoyed it.

I'd never heard of it before but the cast seemed pretty good and SLJ usually injects something worthwhile into the films with which he's involved.

I liked his restrained performance throughout and Luke Kirby proved to be a thoroughly unlikeable opponent/partner.

I gather the film wasn't all that successful at the box office and I wonder whether it was because the production team couldn't decide on what type of picture they wanted to end up offering the public.

It begins as a fairly typical human interest drama of likeable ex - con with a few secrets, trying to go straight. Then after a fairly significant plot twist it begins to switch to thriller mode with Foley trying to ward off Ethan's continual advances. Then it finally attempts to stage a Mamet - style third act con with copious revelations being unveiled.

The trouble is it just doesn't seem to gel together as a whole, with the finale shootout just seemingly on hand to bring the curtain down on a rather patchy film.

Overall, although of some interest, I found it was ultimately somewhat unsatisfying.

The story was not very unique or interesting.

Though the acting kept me hanging in. I did not hit the FF button once during the entire flick.
