What I Expected to Happen (Spoilers)

The ending was not what I had expected since the middle of the movie. From the way Iris and Ethan reacted to Foley, I expected that Ethan was running a Samaritan on Foley. I thought Ethan was extracting revenge on Foley and that everyone else in the con. I did not really believe that Iris was really his daughter. I expected that she would be involved in the grift and accidently (on purpose) get killed with Foley blaming himself for her death. I expected Ethan to have Iris appear to die and then whisk Foley out of there due to his recent release from prison knowing that he would blame himself for his continued poor decision making for killing his friend, sleeping with his daughter and getting her killed. He would be so distraught that he would kill himself thus having Ethan run a perfect con as a variance of the Samaritan on Foley.
