I don’t know what they were thinking with this new cut. I actually prefer the Coffin Baby version that’s from other countries. The story made more sense and better music in parts. They changed a lot in the Shout release version. There are so many different scenes in the Coffin Baby dvd I have that are not in this new version. The ending is different as well and done so much better in Coffin Baby.

What was the ending in the Coffin Baby cut? I haven't seen it in like two years and I just watched the Shout version today which was horrible.

*WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD*
The cops show up and see all the bodies. Then it cuts to a news reporter talking about all the victims. Coffin Baby appears in a body bag and pops out in the ambulance at the end.
Then there is awesome mash up of creepy images and trippy music. This is seen at the beginning of TBM2, but the music is different. In Coffin Baby the cool mash up is at the end and it says Coffin Baby, instead of Tool Box Murders 2.
Much better ending I’d say.

Actually, "Coffin Baby" was the re-cut version. The version just released as TBM-2 was the original cut. The "Coffin Baby" version was done when the original cut was determined to be too bleak and too violent.
shareThey should have stuck with the re-cut version then. Coffin Baby was a much better movie. The dvd I have of Coffin Baby is pretty nasty too. I actually think it's about the same as TBM2 with the nasty scenes. Just has more added to the story than TBM2. Extra scenes and a better ending I'd say than TBM2.
They should have added both cuts on the TBM2 Shout! release, would have been great.

In March 2011 Dean Jones was hired as the director of Toolbox Murders 2 and shot principal photography for that movie in Los Angeles for the company TMB III Movie LLC. Jones put together his directors' cut of the film for screening at the 2011 Cannes film festival where it was not well received. He subsequently shot additional footage for the Toolbox Murders sequel, but then had a falling out with the producer and in October 2012 he and brother Starr Jones shot additional footage for the film Coffin Baby in Alamance County, North Carolina on locations in their hometown of Graham, North Carolina. Area emergency workers and residents served as extras.[5] Jones and TBM III Movie LLC have since resolved their differences and now stand behind Toolbox Murders 2 as the only film authorized for distribution.

So I read on the Wikipedia that Samantha had a child who was 11 months old. The Police were investigating her Boyfriend for the child's death. They suspected Samantha when she went missing. None of this was in "Toolbox Murders 2". Was it in "Coffin Baby"?
Yeah that was in Coffin Baby cut.
