no condoms?

Did not seem like Cheryl was using any condoms for the full penetration intercourse. he being a virgin, catching an STD would not be a concern for her, and, I assume she is using birth control. But in an interview the real Cheryl says she has slept with over 900 people. I guess when you are paralyzed from the neck down, an STD (including HIV) isn't high on your list of worries.

but he could've contracted it through a blood transfusion. Better to be safe than sorry

reply

but he could of contracted it

Since "could of" has no meaning, as anyone who's finished elementary school knows, that would be impossible.

What makes you think they were NOT using condoms? Just because the director didn't explicitly film that scene doesn't mean it didn't happen.

And I think it fairly likely that the director/writer didn't want to highlight that significant issue.

And your message seems to suggest an undercurrent of the idea that if a woman has had sex with 900 people then she just HAS to be DISEASED - Right?

reply

... we knew they weren't using condoms because he said he ejaculated on her leg, remember? :D

reply

I don't know if they could have gotten a condom on him without him ejaculating. He couldn't help it.

You have to admit having 900 sexual partners no matter how it comes about, does bring 'icky' to mind. Someone out of those 900 could have passed something on to her. I doubt they were all virgins.

only if your the type of person that thinks everyone should live by his rules because he cannot see further than his nose.

Well it's a movie and "the real Cheryl" is real so maybe they didn't use condoms in the movie not to overcomplicate things (or because she never had time to put it on him before he ejaculated but then she did when they had intercourse) and she uses condoms in real life?

Doesn't a sex surrogate ONLY sleep with virgins (in their work?) I presume she has regular sexual health tests too. She's married, so it's not like she was sleeping around elsewhere. I'm sure there are workers in the porn industry who have riskier sex than her and don't use condoms.

reply

This was the 80s - Aids/HIV was just becoming world news, nobody really understood it or what it was all about. Don't forget that initially it was thought of as a gay male disease (wrongly of course)

reply

Surrogate have sessions with non-virgins. It isn't only virgins who have problems and a surrogate can help.

reply

Somehow I think I would trust Dr Cheryl to make the correct and appropriate health decisions in this regard.

reply

hey don't let truth get in the way of a good story, of course she would use a condom, it's just that if they did that in the film it would have lessened the "oh I love you so much my hands melt like butter when they touch your silky skin" crap

"the day I tried to live, I learned that I was alive"
