Sketchy Slunk Off in a Pwnd Pout
Sketchy could have made the most out of more air time by showing some game the way Gian and Kelly did. Sure, they didn't win either, but they got to show more of their work and gained esteem from the audience that will pay off in more professional success for as long as they remain in the industry. Sketchy will be remembered as the fussy prima donna who stormed off in a snit when he didn't get his way and realized he couldn't subjugate women with his sneering sexist whining. Sketchy wasn't protesting that the fix was in for a woman winner, he got his nose rubbed in the fact that the women there not only weren't intimidated by his hostility but were actually capable of doing better tats than he could.
His palm tattoo wasn't all that bad, as even though it looked dark and not easy to read: it will age and wear into more clarity. Everyone else there had to do palms that day. Sketchy seemed elated until he realized that no fewer than three women had done tats which were already more clear and appealing than his. Some people let a setback stop them, but others instead emerge more determined to learn from loss and improve.
He didn't manage his own emotions and his misogyny got the better of him. He quit because he didn't believe in his ability to produce quality tattoos and keep building his fan base. Perhaps he might have stuck around longer if it didn't bother him so much that he could be bested by a woman. He was unable to transcend the false dichotomy that it would be winning or nothing.
