Matt Clark Got Shafted

I'm sorry people but the Matt kid kept getting the short end of the stick. He seemed like a genuinely good kid. The kid seemed to be the school charity case. He does state that his uncle is out of town again. He seems to not take anything seriously because his life is sad. He didn't fall for the doctors little therapy sessions. And therefore, he wasn't under mind control of the doctor when he got the kids together to kill themselves.

He wanted in on the detention because he didn't want to be expelled and had nowhere else to go. He didn't want to tell his uncle or parole officer he was expelled and I think he thought detention would keep him from expulsion.

But watching the movie I felt sorry for him. He is constantly trying to save these other kids from themselves. He is always stopping them in their bad behavior. And in detention he spends his time stopping them from killing each other. He is the best kid ever considering kids nowadays are fighting, sleeping with each, raping people, and posting all their exploits on youtube.

This kid just really gets the odd man out extreme treatment.
Max played the dummy really well. He really said stupid things rather than just stayed quiet doing his work all the time. I know that Max may have wanted revenge for his people but taking it out on that kid was really taking the low road. The kid never seemed to do a malicious thing to anyone around him and Max was wrong for that.

Perhaps Matt just suffered from bad karma from what his uncle had done. It seems, to answer the question everyone has about his felony, Matt did do anything. He is just the kid at the wrong place at the wrong time all the time. And we saw that play out in the story here. And unfortunately he will now be tried as an adult for all those murders and likely put on death row if he doesn't get life in prison/death row takes forever anyway.

I feel bad for this kid man. I wonder what the sequel brings for him.
