Could have been good without the 'horror' element

They should have removed the 'supernatural' aspect and the unrealistic deaths, and just made an updated version of the Breakfast Club. The film had so many nice touches, but the overarching story about the haunted library and 'the conspiracy' just felt convoluted. The flashback stories about how they got into detention was more entertaining and funny, (except the one about that chick stripping *yuk*) than the main story with the ancient Indian curse.

The Breakfast Club aspect, same thing I was thinking, but this would have taken some MAJOR rewriting to make it as that sort of movie. The Breakfast Club aspect only works if you have the right mix of characters backed by some really top notch acting and that already happened in the original Breakfast Club. You simply can't update it without it being just a ripoff of the original. It had its golden moment and you can't recreate it.

This one just stunk. Plain and simple. Nothing they could have done would have fixed it. It was a stupid idea to try to cash in on the Breakfast Club simply because they had Nelson on board. God, I hope J.N. wasn't behind this one! But a flawed basic idea....you can try and build on it all you want, you can try to special effect it up, you can make it a horror, you can add all the comedy you want....but the bottom line is it will always be a flawed. This one was bad!
