30 year olds in a prep school

What am I missing? The "students" look 30 years old in the trailer. What kind of school is this?

reply

Just because you say they look 30 doesn't change the fact that they were all between 18 and 23 according to IMDb and other sources. So a little warning to you...saying she looked older than she was won't work for you in court either.

reply

Yeah, they look 30 years old to me, sorry. They can cast 30 years old who look 18, which is very common, or cast 18 year olds who look 30.

BTW, sweetie, Augie Duke plays a student here, or am I wrong? She turned 25 in February of 2011 and she looks every single year of it.

You'll have to try again at the insult.

I'm over 30 and all the girls in the trailer look like standard millenial-era high-schoolers who are trying to look mature, with the advantages of short skirts, high-tech makeup and access to youtube videos that tell them how to expertly apply it. High school girls today look way older than they did back in my day... ask any male who's been out of school for a couple of decades. Despite that, one of the actresses in the trailer looks identical to one of my high school female friends simply due to bone structure, so her hotness has nothing to do with age.

I don't think you've spent much time around 30-year old women. The girls in this movie don't look it. At all.

The Doctor is out. Far out.

Roger Duke, who plays Craig Cook, according to IMDB, was born in 1981.

@ Nicholascarlton: Ha! Well played sir, well played!

something terribly clever.

Its normal for the genre to cast people 25yrs+ in the roles of teenagers due to the subject matter.

agreed

i'm 18 and it's *beep* impossible for me to watch a lot of "teen" based movies now. i just get too angry at all these people who are obviously older.

reply

That's also what brought me to the board.

Holy cow, ladies! You're a little long-in-the-tooth to be in high school. (Unless, of course, you've failed 8 times along the way. In which case, I guess it's perfectly normal to look too old.)

reply

i wanted to say the same thing! is it a thing now for girls to want to look older or the casting was just awful?

According to the actor bios, the only 30-something in the movie was Jeffrey Schmidt, who plays Dr. Day. The "Bad Kids" were all recent high school graduates or just starting college when they shot the movie. From what I understand, for rated R movies with violence and nudity, they usually cast college-age kids to portray seniors in high school, as opposed to underage kids to play older. The chicks are hot so I don't care if they are 18 or 21 in real life. More importantly all the "kids" were great actors, as opposed to the over the top horrible Disney and Nickelodeon actors they would have probably had to go with if they had cast any younger. I'm biased though because I love the movie and have already seen it twice.

Older actors playing teens isn't new. Who gives a *beep*

reply

Right.... it's done all the time. So get over it. It's pretty standard to have 25-year-olds playing teens, if they look young. However, when they have 30-year-olds (who look 30) playing teens, then that's a bit much.

Whilst I agree with you, there is still something sexy about seeing 30 year old's dressed as school girls.
Even Augie Duke who looks as if she's lead a very hard life hits the spot.

reply

like in every other movie you watch, there is a certain degree to which you need to suspend disbelief while watching it. Once you do this, you'll probably enjoy movies a lot more.

reply

They don't look that old...about like the cast of 9o21o back in the 9o's with the single exception of Luke Perry who definitely looked 3o+...
