Suspicious 10/10 review

Another suspicious 10/10 review from someone who just registered.

reply

Yes I agree it is highly suspicious because I watched this film and it was a wretched experience. Boring, slow, pointless drivel.

reply

thought it could have been a lot better and scarier after all it was supposed to be a horror film not some hybrid gay soft porn / thriller

reply

Yes, very odd indeed.

I also see a lot of similarities between this film and Jack Be Nimble... both about a gay/ambiguously gay male lead, men being tied to a post/tree as punishment, women running around in bloody nightgowns, crazy older women in gothic get-up, the scenery... (was it filmed in New Zealand too?) and so on. Though I will say one thing: Jack Be Nimble is still awesome compared to this piece of crap.

It's pretty common actually, and it's the reason why IMDB doesn't give a rating average until there are a significant number of votes. And, it's also not anything that is surprising given human nature.

The first people who will come to the IMDB page for a show are likely to be cast, crew, friends and family members of people involved with the movie. They will know about it first, and they will be curious sooner than anyone else. And, since they are somewhat connected to it, they are more likely to give it a higher rating than the average person.

It's pretty rare to see the first ratings and first reviews be bad. No matter how bad a movie is, the first ones to come to the IMDB page for it will say it's great. It's just the way it works.

And, of course this isn't a 10/10! That's just hysterical. Nothing in the 250 movies with the highest average rating on this site has higher than a 9.2 average, so to think UnHappy Birthday is better than The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, or Schindler's List is pure madness.
