What song was on the grandmother's radio?

Hi,
First, I love this enchanting, beautiful, and original film.

When the children get to the grandmother's house in Dublin, she puts the radio on and says something like 'This is my favourite song!'. Ben then turns on his walkman in disgust.

What is the song? It sounded very old to me, maybe from the 1920s or 30s. It also sounded German for some reason.
Do any of you film scholars know?

Thanks in advance.

The song, which is in the Irish language, is called Báidín Fheilimí.

It's considered a children's song and young students in Ireland would learn it in primary school.

The version used in the movie was purposely made to sound like John McCormack, an Irish tenor who was an international success in the first half of the last century.

There are lots of different versions and arrangements of the song on Youtube.

Many thanks for this!
I've just listened to it on Youtube, and also to John McCormack - and yes, after listening to other songs by McCormack, the song on the radio sounded very similar.
Thanks again. . .
