Revealing people's secrets on camera?

I see debate about whether this is a fake documentary, and I somewhat hope it is. How can he include dark family secrets in service of this hoax? A man revealed his crack addiction and a woman revealed abuse from her father. I dunno this seems rude at best.

They had to sign away their image for this documentary. Yes, they signed while believing he was this guru that he only sorta was, but I do believe that his teaching was never different than what he told them when they were inspired to sign that contract. The only trickery was that he was from India and he had an Indian accent, otherwise, he was basically himself. All spiritual tools and methods are the same, whether he made them up or someone else did.

They may feel duped, and some people may feel they were duped, but I hope they don't feel that way forever.

And I don't think someone should feel shame in being honest, even if they are being honest about their abuse or the addictions they suffered through. If they are strong enough to tell the world, then I hope they would feel that way even if they thought they were talking to someone more "spiritual" than them.

I could easily call them gullible or naive or weak minded, but really, I strongly feel we are all tricked and duped at one point and if you later came to find out you were and can learn something from it, there is no shame. The shame is allowing yourself to forever be tricked and to never get anything from it. He gave them the chance to see the illusion he was talking about the whole time, and I find that is a real gift. Now they can see that all they ever needed was a good friend and some time to self reflect. If they can't see that, than they missed his teachings.

He never spoke of connecting to god, he never spoke like he was better than them, and if they thought he was, then they were not the students he hoped they were when his final lesson was unveiled. Maybe they just need more time to figure out what he was teaching them. Sometimes we need to take lessons again and ponder them further. It's probably a issue with pride largely, and that's something we can overcome.

We have all been wrong and we have all been right, it's about figuring out which was which at what time and trying to do better.

How can people reveal dark family secrets to a MOVIE CREW for the whole world to see instead of doing so in a private setting like a psychiatrist's office or church support group?
