Same two girls from Shake it up??? Who the heck came up with that idea???

reply

Someone who took a look at the ratings for Shake It Up apparently.

I've got a theory. It could be bunnies.

Are they that good? From what I've seen everyone hates that show. <.<

I like the show. I find it very entertaining, actually. Between Gunter and Tinka, the girls, their friends and then the things that the little brother gets himself into. Yes, it's corny. No it's not "stimulating". It may be a "junk" TV show, but whatever.

I also like Ally & Austin, Jessie, A.N.T Farm, and Wizards along with DXD's Pair of King's and I'm in the Band.

iCarly, Victorious, Degrassi, House of Anubis, Big Time Rush... I'm a kid really. I watch shows for older people as well, but sometimes you just want to sit down and remember how to be a kid.

Also, I'm 18 and a girl, so...

Lol I'm a 16 year old guy and I watch all those Disney shows including Shake it up! They're so funny! (and Bella is really cute )

reply

You 2 must be extremely high. Shake It Up is probably the worst show Disney Channel has ever created. No one on that show has the ability to even be remotely funny

Ignore Wakatine, lilej2. They're apart of the new generation of Disney.

Personally I feel sorry for them for not knowing the greatness that was the 90's.

I know, right? I was a kid in the 90's and even I can see this pattern. People put 90s shows on a pedestal. A lot of it is overrated.

Totally agreed! I'm nineties kid (born in the late eighties) and I get really sick of people praising how good they think nineties Disney Channel was. For my personal opinion, I honestly didn't care for it (except for Recess). I like the 2004 and onwards Disney much better and I watch and enjoy all of their current shows. Yes, the nineties were a very fun time for most of us, but people have got to stop living in the past so much and give the newer stuff a chance.

You got what you wanted but you lost what you had.

reply

I'm both well aware of the eighties and nineties generation of television. and yes it a different period of television compared to now, but I still enjoy the 2000 era of televison, with Nick and Disney.

I'm an avid viewer of the current run of Disney and Nick programming as well as Teenick. and I still enjoy the nineties version of the two networks as well.

If there was one defining argument I must make is the era of the Nineties and especially the eighties programming was more and truly mean this, intensely entertaining and enjoying to the major networks of ABC, CBS and NBC.

IMO gone is the slapstick era of the sitcoms in this generation like TGIF, and replaced by the annoying situational romantic sitcoms and reality based garbage.

That is why I still turn to NIck and Disney, because we still get that lighthearted feeling of comedies, that are just slapstick or good humor that we are missing in comedic programming on the major networks in this era.

So nothing will keep me from watching Disney and Nick in this, or any generation, because I can not deal with the nonsense that mainstream programming networks have become, with exception of the CW and some of Fox.

it is just disappointing that my favorite networks of the past in ABC, NBC and CBS have just become mediocre and boring in the idea of comedies.

reply

I moreso meant 1996-2003 Disney.

And I do think Jessie and ANT Farm is funny. I don't think Shake It Up or So Random are funny though.

But my Top series from Disney Channel, and I've seen them all, are Even Stevens, So Weird and Phineas and Ferb. The last one is my favorite animated program of either channel currently in production.

My Top 3 shows from Nick are Rugrats, The Angry Beavers and Invader Zim

On the major networks I usually only watch FOX and NBC, Glee, Chuck, AI, Raising Hope, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, New Girl.

I hate ABC Family and everything it airs, especially The Secret Life of the Can't act their way out of a paper bag Teenager.

Any other time I'm watching Nicktoons Network, Invader Zim, Avatar, Dragon Ball Z: Kai, Fairly Oddparents, The Mighty B and Fanboy and Chum Chum are both awesome and totally underrated. I wish they stop playing so much Power Rangers, unless they decide to air the first seasons.

Excuse me????????

I know of the greatness that was the 90's. But Disney isn't playing them anymore.... so I moved on. Just because I LIKE the new generation of Disney shows, doesn't mean I'm part of it. And even if I am, it doesn't mean that I didn't know (or love) the old Disney and/or Nick.

Like I said... those shows aren't for anything other than entertainment... something to laugh at.

The reason people feel strongly about '90s kids shows (Nick & Disney) is they were ABOUT something DEEPER under the surface than what we have now.

Now, it's nothing but music, dance and fame-whoring more or less. The last good shows were pre-Hannah Montana e.g. Lizzie Maguire, Even Stevens, etc. before the music bubble hit and everyone and their uncle (Nick & Disney!) shifted their focus and programming to be nothing but 22-minute commercials for iTunes downloads and CD sales. Shows pre-HM actually were about timeless themes like friendship, loyalty, respect, dignity, independent thought, marching to the beat of your own drummer, etc. Now, it's about how many "likes" on Facebook the characters can get, or how fast they can score a music, or record deal.

As for "Frenemies"...

This is a typical tween-girl movie for Disney's target audience: Tween girls. The whole BFF motiff is how they market Bella & Zendeya, so it doesn't surprise me they are in this at all...

I actually think there have been some good shows on DC after 2005.

Wizards of Waverly Place(Seasons 1, 2 and 4), Sonny With a Chance(Season 1) and Good Luck Charlie are all really good comedies. And of course Phineas and Ferb is amazing, I mean it's hands down the funniest animated program Disney has ever had.

Although I agree with your comment on all of Disney's other programs, they are mostly about getting famous by singing or dancing. And all the jokes seem to be about Justin Bieber.

ANT Farm has some pretty mature innuendos going for it, not on level with Victorious or iCarly but still more than any previous DC series, excluding Good Luck Charlie which has made various references to sex.

Austin And Ally

Besides So Weird and The Jersey I don't think the 90's shows were any good ( not including cartoons of course). Well and Boy Meets World but that didn't air on DC originally. My all time favorite DC sitcoms are The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck. Also:

Jessie
Shake It Up
Good Luck Charlie ( didn't like it at first but got into it later)

and some Canadian acquisitions like Life With Derek, My Babysitter is a Vampire and Mr Young

and all of this coming from a 90's kid.

Esta es mi firma
