Is this movie as fun as Dance of the Dead?

It's along the same lines. Maybe not quite as good. I enjoyed them both.

Dance was much better. Better build of storyline and character development (I know it's a zombie comedy but still those things make a difference for me). The zombie stuff came later on and in Detention it's too sudden. Like revealing Godzilla 10 minutes in. Zero buildup.

Just my cents.

It tried but I think it failed, I can see where it was going, it used a bit of The Breakfast Club (and a few other John Hughes flicks) but in all honesty I think it should have tried harder with that bit.

Give it a one time watch and call it a day.

Dance of the Dead was silly but pretty funny. I liked this one; probably rate it lower - but it had the fact that it was a Breakfast Club homage going for it. If I can laugh at terrible Christmas Eve zombie movie, I can laugh at this.

Dance of the Dead was good. Detention of the Dead stunk.
