If You Like Conan I Believe You Will Relish This

I think the audience for CONAN O'BRIEN CAN'T STOP is rather limited, with it not likely doing much for those who aren't already Conan fans, but I do think those who are already fans will get a lot out of it. Beyond the obvious enjoyment of just watching him perform, I think it humanizes him. You get to see that he is "real", not always nice and perfect. You get to see his vulnerability, his NEED to perform, and maybe most interesting, his creative process. It is a modest film, but I think it offers a lot and enjoyed it very much. If you dig Conan, vview it and get to know the man a little more. It doesn't come off as an infomercial for the man, but instead a more raw look at him.

As a fan of Conan, I liked it. As a documentary, I found it a little boring. I thought it was going into the 2 hour mark, but was barely past an hour when I became tired and bored. I don't understand how people's minds about Conan has changed. He was tired and still had strong emotions during the filming of this. In fact, when I saw a taping of his TBS show in February, I also had the sense that he was still tired. But the thing about Conan is that he doesn't let it affect his show and he does his best to give you a performance. People are calling him 2-face because he's decent enough to meet fans for a little while, accommodate for each individual, even though he's so tired he complains about it afterward? That's just being real. He understands the situation, people waiting for him, and we should understand his situation as well. I don't think seeing Conan act a little irritated at the end of the day takes anything away from when you do get a chance to meet him he's respectful and nice. People really do feel entitled when it comes to meeting celebrities. The documentary showed how physically draining the act was, so I can see how it can be exhausting to do the show and be "on" for people before/after it. I'm surprised people aren't more understanding about it, especially coming out from something as emotionally draining as what happened with NBC.

The problem is though that his annoyance about meeting the fans isn't just something that he bitches about to his driver or to his assistant. He is being filmed so it's a good chance that those fans are going to see his bitching. Can you imagine being those fans and seeing what he really thinks of them? Them maybe having supported him throughout the whole NBC thing and then seeing him complain about them on camera? I would be mortified.
