I sure as fuck wouldn't. A blueberry pomegranate margarita? Yuck. I don't like pomegranates in the first place so I would not want one in my drink. Same thing with their mojitos. What happened to just an ordinary mixed drink? No competent bartender by the way would ever shake a martini. Martinis are made with gin and vermouth. Stirred not shaken. I don't give a royal fuck how Bond ordered his.
shareAll very fine, you wouldn't like it; but others would. There are many ways to mix the myriad of ingredients that can be put into a mixed drink and the only thing that limits them is; can it be sold?
Classics are all well and good. They should form the base for any mixologist (or bartender if you prefer.) But just like food many people like new combinations.
All places have specialty drinks.
Taffer just exaggerates that this is what will bring someone to the bar.
I like a specialty drink with lunch when i'm having a lazy day, which is rare.
But on average, I'm a Bourbon neat person.
I will agree with you that the specialty drinks that are on the show are not very appealing.
The cocktails on this show are usually too sweet, but people who like sweet drinks are the market for these bars.
