He was missing one sleeve in the room, presumably from the fight with the 5 guys, but in the fight flashback, when they carried him out of his house, he had both sleeves - and no fat lip, either.

The other candidates used his sleeve to bandage his head before he woke up.

Both his lips were fat and flabby from the start. *sorry*
