Hey, PR Douchebags.. Read this..

If your going to be pasting fake reviews for a *beep* movie, at least make sure you review a couple more. Pretty obvious when its a new account with only one review on it. The review with 1/10 in the front page is dead accurate, dont watch garbage like this. And Malcom Mcdowell should be ashamed of himself, im tired of getting movies with him and realizing he's got 5 minute parts and knowing he only did the movie for some quick cash, read the *beep* scripts before you sign on, you're losing all your credibility with everyone...

You are probably right about a planted review, assuming it is the one that rates The Employer 8/10 well above the 5.6/10 average, and writes in ‘rave and must be seen’ style too. A good job you noted it as IMdb is a trusted website for movie lovers –otherwise why would you and I bother to visit the site at all? However, you weaken your otherwise strong position by being abusive, after all nobody held your head in the toilet bowl and forced you to watch the movie. With only ten reviews so far (as I write), mostly favourable, some negative, the jury is still out
As regards good actors wasting themselves on too many low quality movies, I agree with you. Far too many top-notch stars, such as Morgan Freeman and the late Anthony Quinn, have lowered the average standard of their filmography by participating in some low quality parts and movies, so what are the motives for movie stars mammoth incomes to lower themselves? Is it greed that impels them? Perhaps greed may apply in a few cases? Keeping up appearances to maintain star status? More likely, as it is the expense of upkeep of one or more rambling estates in Laurel Canyon and Tuscany, first class hotels, rental villas, use of exclusive clubs and restaurants and transport, wardrobes, watches that cost as much as a bachelor flat in Mayfair and jewellery, stylists, trainers, makeovers, plastic surgery , expensive private education and horse-riding for the kids, alimony etc. Such expenses can easily devour most of their income and financial wealth, even more than their net worth if they are careless about money. However, I guess for most the main reason is that betimes they are hounded by the IRS or HMRC demanding huge amounts of unpaid taxes falling upon them like bolts from the skies, enough motive, I suppose for them to sign on to lousy movie scripts where they are badly cast.

I'm not being abusive bro, they are douchebags... I come on IMDB to get honest reviews from fellow movie fans in order to determine what to watch, when asses like those plant reviews, they do the entire community a disservice...

as for malcom mcdowell, he must be making some good money on tv in franklin and bash, there are other ways to make money for an actor of his calliber, he needs to start picking his scripts better, or sometime very soon there won't..

reply

Yeah but you need to understand amigo it is why he is making some scratch and you and I and all the rest can feel free posting about how an actor/actress should or should not conduct their career - they know far more than you what they need to pay their bills.

I want to see Oliver Stone with a 'tell all' on 'Jack our Jack'... bangin' some barely legal partner in the rack and best of all someone acting as that clown 'Edward R. Murrow' playing suckup coverup for 'Jack our Jack'. huh? Then they could put in Part II with 'Bobbie' and 'Teddie' and their 'thang' huh?

Gone are the days...Jack...Bobbie...Teddie...if only...why? Who will show us the way?

the thing i though, that an actor partly gets new roles by reputation due to previous roles. mcdowell is a great actor, but he has participated in an insane amount of really bad movies and i mean abysmal. some of them make "son of mask" look like "gone with the wind" in comparison.

OK "breh"!... I wouldn't even WANT a review from someone like you.
And it's funny that you "come here for honest reviews from fellow movie fans". You know what everyone and their dog visits IMDb, right? And you know that the movie-business is a business that's largely about money, right?...

I mean, I'M someone who cares about integrity and quality in artforms and all that jazz, but I don't come here for pure and pristine accuracy on films. If you want that I suggest you find or even make your own community with people that want the same. This is not it.

The best thing you can find here is maybe a few accurate reviews, and at most a somewhat accurate rating on the main page of each title. And even THAT isn't always that "right" (depending on how a film's superficial reputation fares).

"betimes" lol... anyway yo forgot a good reason too, many have kind of an entourage, or simply friends, or family, that be constantly begging them to appear in some of their prods... (if not produce it :).

Some of those actors you named might be paid less than you think. The brad pitts and robert downey jr are in a tiny exclusive club, which is still less than what giant stars used to make when big names used to rule the box office.

Its just a guess but I"m guessing mcdowell doesn't get the huge paychecks you think he does for most of his jobs.

i almost agree 100%. i gave it a 2 though, because it was well crafted and i have seen worse acting. overall i can not give it more though, even with those positives in mind, because the script just kills it. this movie was bring predictable and overall did not even make sense. spoiler! i don't understand if the ending was supposed to be a "twist" of some kind, but if they were going for one then that must have been the worst twist in history. when credits rolled, i could not believe that it was over. worst of all the behavior of none of the characters made sense. none. spoilers. the muscle dude would have found an easy way out of the choking, also provoking him to trick the others did not make any sense, research girl knew everything about the company and would have known about the tests and therefore either kill the others or not participate at all, survival of the fittest girl could have killed all 4 right within the first 5 minutes of the film and finally: they already gotten behind the two possibilities of the game: either it is true that they should kill each other and therefore immediately start to kill each other or that the game had a completely different goal and therefore try to find out what that goal is. waiting and wondering, " doesn't really make sense. also, why didn't they even TRY to escape? one chick even said that she would fit into the ventilation shaft. major spoiler: what i don't get is why wouldn't the survivor just shoot the employer and then take over his position? and if not take over, why not just shoot him and go home. would have fit his profile..

crazy weak. crazeee weak.

I take the reviews with a pinch of salt, and if they need a day to read I don't even bother.
I went into this with a high expectation it was going to be cr@p and it sure was. Had Katerina Mikailenko at around 50 mins pulled her dress hem up instead of down I would of given it a 3/10 instead of the 2 for being highly shaggable.

Movie was not as bad as Jose says. But not as good as the fake reviewers say either.

In the documentary, Malcolm states he did the movie to give the director a good name to help him out and that's why he does a lot of low rate films.
