Did the code follow some path and could actually be guessed?

I found some patterns but couldn't go further than this

|C-D| = A
A = 5 (number of candidates)
E = number of candidates left to be killed

Interesting post. during the movie, I noticed the 5's also. And they were all 5-digit numbers.
