Use of Music n Children...

I enjoyed Children... but was ultimately quite disappointed by it. Its strongest asset I felt was its music, the rest of the film never really lived up to it. This got me wondering about the power of music in Korean cinema and how cathartic it can be. A few more thoughts on this here:

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the film?

Yes, I have a think. Whoever was behind this crime, it seems unlikely that he was Korean. I mean Koreans don't seem to be prone to psychopathic behavior in general. However, there *is* a country that just happens to be militarily occupying South Korea that just happens to produce more psychopaths than any other country. Yet no one in this movie even suspects for one moment that one or more citizens of that country might be behind this? It's too frustrating to even watch.

The odds of the killer being a foreigner are slim to none. Not a lot of foreigners in the countryside in Korea of the early 90's. Rest assured if some foreigner lived around those parts every one would know about it.

I guess the guy behind the real crimes shown in Memories of Murder is also a foreigner. You, sir, are an idiot.
