It's really thick when she says "out" words like "about" and "shout". What kind of accent is that because it doesn't sound like Tracy's Baltimore accent. To me, it sounds like some sort of a white girl Canadian accent. And why is she the only one with it? Is it fake because it's a bit distracting to me.

Granted I only started watching a few months ago, but I have heard no sign of a lisp. If she does have one, it got fixed and they have enough money to work on how she pronounces her vowels which needs to be the area of focus.

shareYou know what? That broad's accent with words containing "o" is driving me nuts so much so that I came in here to ask about it. I'm not trying to be nitpicky or condescending like the sisters can sometimes be with that older sister who mispronounces almost everything. That would feel like picking on my grandma because her educational opportunities were diferent.
Perhaps Trina's thing is trying too hard not to sound like that other sister, but dear God, she's got to stop letting every "o" turn into an enlongated "ow". It is annoying. Toni does not necessarily sound like she comes from the south if we're going with stereotypes but Tamar does sound like it. There's a contrast in accent, but at least the rest of them are consistent. It's like Trina picks a word here and there that she decides to pronounce what she considers "proper".
I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to be mean or knock her, but some things have to be addressed.
I have a friend who could mis-pronounce everything possible, but it wasn't until she said "ambalamps" meaning "ambulance" that I had to draw the line. It was not a comfortable conversation, but I had let skrimps, skreet, cabeRET (literally when you're throwing one and go along with the fact it should be pronounced "ray"), but the "lamps" was when I had to actually say something. Do you see a "p" on the back that van with the whirly lights on top?
Somehow it makes it worse when all the rest of the words sound normal and Trina latches on to one syllable that just sounds weird. I understand that her sister is a superstar and there night be "family issues" which should replace "family values" in the title of the show, but I think there's no need to fake talk some sort of what you think is proper unless you can nail it. Otherwise, just speak like the real you.
I just started watching this on Netflix streaming because I love Toni Braxton. I thought I was the only one who noticed this accent that Trina has every time words come out of her mouth. In my opinion, it is very distracting that I have to read the closed captions to understand her. I am sorry, I don't think it is cute. I didn't know she had a speech disability. But no one else has this accent. I like her but the way she speaks and emphasizes on certain words and diphthongs is overkill.
