misdirected or what?

I am really puzzled by the scene at young Connie's house. Ed asks Spike to spend the night, Susie doesn't want him there. Susie is shown standing in her night clothes looking outside at night, Spike approaches her and they walk back together and she's crying. Was this supposed to be a rape? Or is she cheating on her husband and regretting it? WAY too confusing.

I don't know why I care this movie was a waste of energy. They couldn't even keep the bandage on the same leg after Sam Kennedy got shot.

But any ideas about that scene in the cabin?
