art imitating life or vice versa?

being in america and not really keeping up with the ACTUAL lead-up to the london games, i was wondering how much of this shows rings true.

i immediately though of the second episode of the first series when the bus carrying athletes from the airport to the olympic village was lost for four hours. but i didn't realize things like the cock-ups with the bids for the stadium post-olympics and the big bong (really, REALLY?) actually exist.

any word on whether there will be cgi fireworks tomorrow evening since real ones may set off missiles??
