Elspeth Dickens has agreed to be a stay-at-home mum, momentarily foregoing her singing career, while husband James follows his dream of saving whales. The agreement takes the young couple and their three year-old twin boys to the southernmost tip of Australia where James can be close to the whales. Trying to help their feelings of isolation and the pressure of raising two boys, James gives Elspeth a webcam so they can speak on the net but, in the Southern Ocean, he’s always out of range. Lonely and isolated, Elspeth has an idea. She sets up a website in her kitchen and starts to sing her ‘sink songs’ to the world. As her popularity on the internet grows and she’s thrust into the limelight, complications arise in her home life and, as her relationship with James is strained, Elspeth is faced with the biggest decision of her life.
