Brilliant Premise, but did we get it?

I'm starting to think Lanthimos is the Greek answer to Michael Hanake. His movies are so complex in their detail, but quite simply when you digest them. To me, Alps is somewhat of a comedy, despite the dark tone. It is mocking what we value about people and condemning how we receive information. I wouldn't be surprised one bit to hear that the writer/director loathes social media. He seems to poke fun of how conversation has become so stale. Maybe it's because I literally wrote something about this five minutes before watching the film, but I really got this film (I hope). I didn't give it a great rating, because I felt the last ten minutes, where the job reality and the main characters actually reality to a somewhat silly twist. I also saw Dogtooth first, so I knew what to expect as far as quirkiness, but I also expected a bigger payoff.
