This movie is just all Computer graphics scenery I did not like this film at all - maybe the Asian's will love it , but for me , this was just a waste of time. Simple 1. Too much CGI 2. no action besides alot of CGI (that was just a waste of money making this movie) 3. Jet Li deserves better movies with Reality and , again not 99.9% CGI crap like this had
I have grown up with real effex and ZERO computer animations - and that way I love it . And when there is a movie completely FULL with CGI , I get like whatta*** and it makes me not liking it at all. :)) Dont tell me i am Too old for this new way to go - as i do like CGI movies when the plot fits to it - but this movie was just , blaaaahhh
lol ofc you have siremu...unless you grew up i the 50s i highly doubt you have grown up with movies with zero computer effects...especially if said movies were fantasy based

All the effects were so well done, couldnt believe the snake demons were not real, could almost touch them. I cried at the end, ever the hormonal female. I didnt hate the monks - it was obvious we were privy to a perspective they were not, and would not be until the very end. I feelt the lovers final conversation, now THATs rare.
The problem with CGI in Chinese movies is that they tend to be overly done at the sacrifice of a good storyline. A lot of fights were overly dramatic and "forced." In the end, it makes absolutely no sense. Like the fight at the end. Out of nowhere the snakes were so powerful they can command tsunamis? Where in the storyline does it led up to them being so powerful? It feels like the writers started with wanting epic fights with crazy CGI and filled in the story as an afterthought to make those epic fights a reality.
I don't think it's the amount of CGI... It's the quality of the CGI. Some scenes looked so cheap I had to look away from the screen. Once I got used to the bad graphics, I really enjoyed this movie. I laughed, I cried, I didn't care about the CGI after cca 30 minutes.
