Hate this crappy version, love the original.

Maybe the CG is interesting to look at but thats it.
Not sure if its just me but this movie reminds me of a Chinese Van Hellsing, you know with the bat creatures, females demons with fangs hissing, the hunter LOL. At least Jackman can still be considered as eye candy.

Its a badly twisted version of a very well told Chinese fairy tale, since ppl (I mean everywhere) have no imagination anymore but to remake old stuff.

I've always HATED the monk, who broke up a happy couple and eventually lead of lots of fighting and grief. The poor boy who grew up without a mum (mum is the white snake imprisoned under the tower) but he freed her after he grew up and became more powerful.

You can see as a child why I hate him so much, the #1 baddie in Chinese legend.

Its all the monk's fault and the stupid guy eventually chose to hide hiding inside crab to avoid death (there's karma for you).

When you eat a crab, inside the shell where the head is, if you have delicate hands you can peel "the crab monk" out. My mum shown me a long time ago.

Its was a tragically beautiful fantasy love story that symbolise the frail hope for freedom of love in an old society restricted by traditional law.
