Am I the Only Person Who Liked This Movie?

I actually liked this movie, but for some reason I seem to be in the vast minority. I actually thought it was pretty cool.

I didn't think the CGI was bad, I just thought it was a different style since it wasn't an American movie. We Americans are too used to the Hollywood style of CGI, so it was refreshing to see something different.

Honestly I loved this movie. I am truly a conosouir of foreign films, and yet I still inked this. Many people are complaining about "shoddy special effects" and a stupid story" but they are forgetting what a Chinese or Japanese film is all about! These movies are supposed to be garish and overdone, overacted, and theatrical. Remember that films of the orient have Chinese and Japanese theater and opera as their founder, much different than our American way of movies. Also they don't nessesarily have the same fixation on special effects that we do, and their story is much more important to them. Also it is in a way applicable, meeti g someone you love, and yet society decides that you will not be with them. And does our birth govern what we will become, do we choose what path we take?
I wish people could look at a larger picture.

I also loved this movie. I recently saw a play on the white snake legend so having seen the production on stage with the flourish and overemphasized gestures, I appreciated seeing some of this technique in the movie. In fact, I was so intrigued with the legend after seeing the play, and finding out there are many different versions of the legend (without just one being the "correct" story), I jumped at the chance to see the movie when I saw the title on Netflix. I looked forward to seeing how this movie would develop the story and how it would be depicted. I think this was well done and the emotional aspect was strong.
