It got Oscars so I figured how bad can it be ...
Bad enough to not finish watching it because it is so stupid
and boring. I am sick of Robin Wright's face, pretty as it
may be, and used to like what's his name, but I hated this
movie. I'd give it a 3/10 on IMDB.

To me , getting Oscars is no indication of a movie's quality.

That's going a little too far to me, Oscar winning movies are usually up to some standard and are not bad or offensive and some may find entertaining. But the nature of taste and moviemaking today are diverging agendas

My father would agree with you, too. He says that the commercials for it looked OK, but the movie sucked. Not every "good" movie is good, you know.

This was terrible. I was not really a fan of the original, but I am a big fan of Phillip K. Dick's writing, and always waiting to see some good adaptation of his work to TV or movies. So far not much ... a lot of PKD exploitation going on. I was starting to respect Ryan Gosling's work as an actor, but to me this drops him back to the pack of nobodies. Terrible.

My dad doesn't think the original was good either. But he said that the recent Netflix show Altered Carbon was good.

No... I think it's actually better than the original in a lot of ways.
