Not disappointing but uninspiring, mediocre (spoiler)

I had low expectations, pointless production. The whole premise is based on a twist, a lame one, who cares about can androids make children(wait what), we don't care, well I wasn't at least, it was too far fetched and they lost me then and there. Deckard an android, well maybe, a special breeding android and the original story was a setup? AND they brought her back as a cgi character (they love doing that don't you know). They had to find a core plot device and they chose the most sentimental one, and they twisted the legend of the original. The visuals were pretentious and very shy camerawork(look at us we look like the original but cgier).
7/10 for the overall production quality, welcome to mediocrity BR2049

Totally agree...very mediocre and with all the praising, its overrated af too.

Just fyi, replicants were never androids. They're biological.

Yes Scott has changed the term android or andy to replicants and I got no problem with that. The title of the book is "Do Androids dream of electric sheep". No matter how sophisticated and close to real humans they are still machines. Fyi some of them prefer to be called "artificial person" haha

But then think about it, if you give them a reproductive function and erase the knowledge of their creators from their memory would they start to call themselves human or something like it? Are we human? Or another species of machines...

very much felt there was little to care about here, also. It was all a big "yeah? ok... so?" They forgot to SHOW us details of the things we were supposed to care about. Replicants as slaves? Where? I didn't see or feel it. Was simply TOLD about it.
Breaking the world? How so? Oh... because you TOLD us it would. How exactly? Why? SHOW US FOR FRICKS SAKE! Don't just TELL US.... oooOOOooo... the reps wont want to be slaves anymore.... ok, dur, of course, so??? ooOOoo they can breed. Well, I guess they are human now. Big whoop. Now we can't tell the difference, game over, everyone lives like humans, blade runners no longer needed, everyone breeds, life goes on. So? Plot = dud.

I know. I was disconnected the whole time, yet waited for something to happen which would hook me, but nothing came. Also I thought there would be an easter egg and we could find out maybe what the hell tannhauser gate was. Nothing. Zero. Nada. Bull-shit. Unimaginative. Shallow. Hollow. How this got a rating above 8.0 is beyond my comprehension. Also soundtrack was laughable, even cgi was 10 times less spectacular than the 1982 original. What was the point of the film? To keep the industry going no other reason.

The sound, cinematography and set design carried this movie all the way, and I mean that as a compliment. This was pure cinema. A beautiful film. I do think the plot could have been more interesting but I was not disappointed at all. God I appreciated the hell out of this film.
