Shot for cheap in Hungary = boycott!!

don't reward these cheap bums. Somebody even died on set.

This crap sequel has alread claimed one life

reply

Don't give a *beep* about that. I'm just afraid they'll ruin my memories of the first movie.

reply

lol why

whatever quality this film is going to have, it doesn't change a thing about the first film. Not a single thing at all.

War, what is it good for?

reply

It does change things. Look at the matrix franchise. The first movie was really solid. The other two tarnished my memory of the first one because I can't remember the first one without also remembering the rest since they're linked.

If you rewatch the first one and it has a *beep* sequel you'll continually be reminded of what is to come and it drags the first one down.

Try harder.

Only if you let it, or maybe the first film is not good enough to hold your attention and prevent you from thinking of it's sequel?

There is an explanation for this, you know.

So if they filmed exactly the same movie at an LA soundstage instead of a Hungarian one, you would be happy?

Yes

reply

Alright, but don't forget to boycott most blockbusters who are now filmed in UK at Pinewood studios because it allows them to dodge taxes.

reply

It was filmed in one of the largest studios in the world, where other films such as The Martian where filmed. Whilst the death is a tragedy, it's not the only workplace such sad things have happened. Hungary isn't some cheap backwater. Its a modern and growing economy. I don't know why the film industry should remain in Hollywood. I'm definitely not boycotting this.

The tragic accident happened on the film set in the Hungarian capital. A statement from the film studio, Origo Studios, said: "The worker was underneath a platform, upon which the set was constructed, when it suddenly collapsed. "The cause of the accident is not yet known."

It's possible safety regulations are not so strict in poorer countries like Hungary. Accidents can happen anyway, of course. During the filming of The Force Awakens at Pinewood Studios, England, Harrison Ford broke his leg when a prop door closed on him!

They'll be a big pay out to the bereaved family, I guess.

reply

a payout (big IF there because it's Hollywood, remember) does not take away the fact that they cheaped-out, used cgi fog, lol, and somebody died as a result. Furthermore what's the point of this movie? The first movie ended the story. Same deal as Star Wars!! - There's nothing more to tell with geriatric Harrison Ford
BOYCOTT!!!

reply

From what I understand it's a tremendously expensive film (far more so than the first, even when adjusted for inflation) and it's been shot in one of the newest, largest and most technologically advanced studios in the world. So what's the problem again?

reply

sounds like more jacque bs hype

reply

[deleted]

Lol yeah they defer the costs and then claim the difference as budget.. still looked like a cgi fest with fake smoke

and it claimed a life. That's kind of a big deal, dude

reply

[deleted]

all you've done is deflect and toss out delusions. You are now dismissed

Even if they probably change cgi now since it got exposed as laughable, Harrison Ford can't be cgi-fixed, nor can a death on-set be cgi-fixed.

A death on set is a HUGE DEAL, no matter what insane, stretching excuses you make 

reply

It's a living.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

And Escape from NY was shot in St. Louis.... what's your point? Most movies are not fully shot on location. Look how many cities Toronto and Vancouver fill in for these days. What's the big deal?

reply

Did anybody die during the Escape from NY production? Don't think so

Cheap = deadly
Cheap = crap cgi smoke
Cheap = Harrison Ford getting out o bed and being Uber driven to the LA set

#Boycott

reply

So I suppose you intend to boycott clothing, cars, planes, trains and food. Because people have died producing all of those. If the death occurred because of negligence or intentional use of unsafe methods, then the studio should pay the cost; legally or financially. If it was simply an accident, those things happen. And will always happen. It is impossible to accident-proof anything.
