So was he a replicant or what?

Gosling is obviously a replicant. Ford, on the other, is tougher to say because he gives the same performance in every movie.

Because I am forever adrift, like a ship, at twilight, sailing from the strange.

reply

Since replicants don't age or grow a paunch belly, I'm going to guess Ford's human.

reply

Replicants can age. They are essentially clones. The four year lifespan in the first movie was artificially induced. Some replicants might not have this imposed limitation.

reply

I remember in a past interview where Denis Villeneuve expressed that he would be taking the Human Deckard route because that is how he saw him even though Ridley Scott explicitly said that Deckard was a replicant.

reply

This has indeed been confirmed. Also consider that Ridley Scott was the only person supporting the replicant thing. Original author Philip K. Dick, the screenwriters, and even Harrison Ford himself have dismissed notion as absurd and unfounded. Perhaps we can put that one to rest now.

reply

I remember Ford saying that.

But I believe it was intended trick by Ridley Scott to enhance the acting.

So, Ford will play human cop and not a replicant thinking he was a human cop.

reply

Ridley Scott has never been much of an actor's director. I doubt he lent much of a guiding force to Ford's performance.
