Can Doug just jump off a cliff please?

I'm on season 3 and his loneliness and mental problems with the distress of that hooker he became obsessed with is annoying AF

reply

Don't worry. It pays off.

reply

Disagree. He's not at all interesting to me at any point.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

He's on season 3. How does it pay off? Doug should have died the last episode of season 2. His character has been in 2 seasons too many.

Him killing Rachel made me hate his guts. Not to mention the whole "liver transplant" thing.I still find his caracter intriguing, though.

I find it interesting that people have a problem with Doug but not the President. You can't have one without the other I feel. I like Doug Stamper's character, one of the more interesting characters in recent television. When I say I like, doesn't mean I condone his actions (it pains me that I even have to point this out).

What the President suggests at the end of season 4 (I won't spoil it) is far more evil than anything Doug has ever done.

reply

What does the president suggest at the end of season 4? Was it letting a guy die to take attention away?

reply

I'm also on Season 3. I liked Doug at first, but as soon as he became obsessed with Rachel, I couldn't stand him. He's creepy to me and really annoying.

reply

Having him die at the end of season 2 would have been way better then what we got. Was anyone interested in him after that? I wasn't. His season 3 story was easily the weak story that season.

reply

I am watching season 4 now, I thought season 3 overall was rather dull and generic in comparison to seasons 1-2 so it took me a while to give S4 a shot.

But yeah, couldn't agree more. Doug is absolutely detestable. It's not even that he is clearly sociopathic and seems to crave the approval of Frank in some perverse mixture of a son from his father and an insecure high school girl from her hot older boyfriend but he also fixates on the most pointless of things. His mere presence creeps me out every time he's on screen. I don't see any reason for him to even be on the show anymore. Season 4 spoilers: for a while I thought he was going to commit suicide so that Frank would get his liver, but I guess that would have been a bit too ridiculous.
