I'm a huge T&E fan and have been since Tom Goes to the Mayor but this movie was awful!
The worst part was all the celebrities (Will Farell, John C. Reilly, Will Forte, Zach G) as they were all painfully unfunny in this.
The Shlang corporation guys were just annoying as hell, not funny at all.

Will Farrel had a couple skits, both which were funny due to the Child Clown Outlet theme.
John C. Reilly is hysterical as Dr. Steve Brule, but his character in this was not funny.
Will Forte's sketches on the Awesome Show are funny. In this film he just kind of rehashes the "screaming guy" gimmick but without the humor.
Robert Loggia was just flat out unbearable in this.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. This movie was something I've been completely and utterly pumped about. I bought it off iTunes [breaking my anti-iTunes policy] yesterday, watched it last night, and still have a bad taste in my mouth tonight from it.
The brilliance of T&E was always a combination of the awkward overly drawn out moments and the attention deficit disorder-like filming. The beauty was found in how quickly the show jumped from idea to idea flawlessly, but still found a way of having a background theme/story for the entire episode. The movie, I felt, seemed more driven by people's needs for a theme and story to be focused on than their true humor.

The celebrities had all been on the show anyway, so I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKIN' ABOUT, DADDY. There was something about it that seemed very far from Awesome Show, but that's my only complaint. I loved the *beep* out of it.

I'd never even heard of T&E before watching this, so I went in blind.
Awful. Just awful. In better hands, maybe it could have been something.

I agree 100%.
There were like a million opportunities where they could have gone off the rails, *beep* with the forumula, and done something strange and interesting.
Instead they made an awful, boring, cliche ridden, "save the rec center" type comedy.
Conventional was the last thing I expected from them, but this was just tedious.
