Two unattractive people inside and out

How do they keep making anything? 12 yo gross humorless humor (how is that possible?)
I would swear that they were sleeping with someone high up to get things made but who would touch either one?
But i am sure there are enough pothead, minimum wage types still living in their mother's basement to give this some audience.

Andy Kaufman had plenty of haters too. Its alright though, I think Dane Cook might be recording a new special for you.

reply

You're going to equate Tim and Eric to Andy Kaufman? GTFO

You seem to have absurdist humor confused with potty humor. This movie was obviously too smart for you, which is sad because it's not even that smart. This movie was a leap from your comfort zone. Go back to your Saturday Night Live which is totally still funny, sweetie, you'll feel much better and it will all go away.

"I showed it to my dad, he thought it was a very funny goof and a spoof."

All's I know is this comes out Friday and I can't wait! Who's goin??

Hey pankaken, you wanna come?

reply

Some people love them, some people hate them, to each their own. Lovers and haters just need to accept each other. If you love this show, accept that other people may not share our sense of humor. If you hate this show, then don't watch it, and accept that we find this kind of comedy funny. Why is that so hard for some people to accept?

reply

Seriously. Dane Cook. Just because you learned the word "absurdist" and used it to justify this garbage as if it's just so clever we don't get it, doesn't mean you are smarter than the idiots who watch Dane Cook. It just means that you're just a different type of stupid.

reply

"It just means that you're just a different type of stupid."

Seriously, bro?? You're calling other people stupid when you communicate like a redundant chimp?

reply

Says the "bro" guy. 

reply

Tim and Eric are brilliant comedians and furthermore, extremely cool, gracious and friendly guys. I've met them twice and was amazed at how cool they were. I felt the need to defend them because the haters on here are starting to get a little out of control. If you hate something, why spend your time going online and bitching about it? Just turn the channel, don't see the movie, etc. Tim and Eric are the best, and you haters are idiots.

reply

Do people go out of their way to make stupid objections to comparisons?

"Whuu! Kaufman's hair didn't look anything LIKE Tim or Eric's hair! That's a bad comparison! Whuu!!" - The comparison lies in the observation that anyone doing something different from the norm is bound to attract haters.

If I had to spell that out for you, just shut down your account and leave the site. You don't deserve to post here.

reply

You know, people that don't "get" Tim and Eric and post about it on the innernet, have kinda become it's own meme now.

I agree that it takes a certain kind of humor to truly appreciate it, but labeling it as toilet humor is wildly inaccurate.

Instead of just focusing on the "poop aspect", try noticing the elaborate satire that parodies everything from cable access TV, prime time commercials and politicians down to the excellent use of editing and greenscreen effects. (done bad on purpose, but really explores what makes someone laugh)

They offer something new, by breaking up the confines of what humor really is, and shows us something completely different than the horrible laugh track dominated reality that is American Sitcoms today.

I'm just sad that you're not able to see it.

reply

I totally agree. There are a few "toilet humor" sketches like the Poop Tube or D-Pants, but with those it's not just gross for the sake of gross. The funny is within the fact that any company would manufacture such ridiculous products. There's also an element of David Lynch, as they seem to be trying to make whoever is watching as uncomfortable as they can be. And it usually works too.

Typical fans of time and eric.
You speak like you come on here and have met many like this, you are one pissed off tim and eric hating bastard haha. That's very funny

reply

I'm actually a dude. And I didn't go to the mods.

"I showed it to my dad, he thought it was a very funny goof and a spoof."

reply

LOL, wow - what a little douchebag.

I think I'm going to troll someone's activity for a while... I love people who take the internet too seriously. I think I associate with the mental instability.

"Cowardly"? "Ran to the mods"? "Cry to the teacher"? This isn't a playground, freak, nor is it a school. And if it was, that post would have gained you a C-, at best. "Fans of time and eric"? Try again.

reply

Exactly!

And they use extensive layering, leaving little tidbits that you won't notice until you've watched an episode a couple of times, also kinda like David Lynch :)

reply

Right. Like sidejokes. One of my favorite things about them is how they take little details and focus on them deeply, for example in the Awesome Show episode, "Tennis" where they show Ben Hur saying to Kaz, "Eric just hit him in the head...He just did it again".

"I showed it to my dad, he thought it was a very funny goof and a spoof."

reply

People should stop funding these guys and maybe they would have to get a real job like the rest of us...

Well, those of us that don't patronize their movies... I guess the only ones that would pay good $$$ for a movie this bad doesn't have life.

reply

It's sad how some people go to such great lengths to express their hatred for something. It seems to me as though you really don't care about Tim and Eric and more about being rude to they're fans.

Hey! I take offense to that! Even when I was a pothead, minumum wage type still living in my mom's basement, I didn't like Tim & Eric!

reply

10$ says you're still that exact person

reply

Deal.

Boom, you owe me ten bucks. Give me your email address so we can arrange a paypal payment or you are a coward and a liar.

reply

Norwegian, don't have any dollars.

Nice to see I was right though.

I don't care what you are. And neither does PayPal. It will do the math for the currency conversion you apparently cannot, coward.

So put up, liar.

reply

I like Tim and Eric, I didn't at first cause like someone pointed out it was so over the top ridiculous I couldn't watch it for long but when you give the show a chance it's quite funny in the absurdity.

But really I guess I'd rather be labeled whatever name you want to call me for liking Tim and Eric as opposed to being someone that has to make everyone aware that they hate something.

If you don't like Tim and Eric then why do you care? Why do you let it get to you so much? I hate Twilight but you won't find me on the boards for those movies to let people know I hate it, I'm intelligent enough to stay away from it entirely.

reply

Well, personally, I don't really care much at all.

I was actually surprised they had a movie. I can't even recall how I came across that information, but it brought me to this board, and then the title of this thread sounded interesting so I checked it out. In due course I decided to post a silly reply to the OP. And finally I decided to have a little fun with the quisling, which in turn has brought us here. At this point all I really want is my 55.74 kroner.

Having said all that, I'm a bit different than you in that I like to comment on both the things I like and the things that I don't like.

I could go make fun of Twilight on the Twilight board but 1.) that's too easy, and 2.) I truly care much less about that than Tim and Eric which, though I disliked it, was at least interesting in it's novelty.

I think if one is going to provide serious negative criticism of a movie/televsion program (and IMDB would be pretty boring if people didn't) they should provide legitimate arguments; but again my critique of Tim & Eric was a throw-away joke comment on the board for a movie I haven't even seen, so I didn't and don't feel the need.

I do want to check out Check It Out! though, but I never see [AS] airing it.

Tim and Eric's comedy, tv series, films and the like are without question amongst the most advanced and original material on the planet.... Perhaps so advanced that the haters will likely come around in years to come.. but maybe not.

Either way, I cant express enough my admiration and gratitude to the pair of them for being able to forge ahead and do it strictly their way without comprimises... That alone regardless of your stance on the material warrants major respect...

And i know for sure that they wouldnt be the slightest bit surprised by the negative feedback or the low box office gross.. They know full well to expect it, as it comes with the territory... Point is to have made it, to keep producing this medium of which so few have the forsight and or dedication and committment, let alone the creative aptitude to be so original ,prolific and consistant with this sub sub genre I could only describe (if i had to) as HYPER INTELLIGENT SELF-AWARE 4TH DIMENTIONAL SUB CULTURAL COMEDIC TREASURES :-)

Such huge respect to Tim and Eric, So very thankful for them.. Just hope they are aware of just how far their reach is these days, because its definately reaching its target audience... I truly feel sorry for the haters, only because your overlooking such groundbreaking hilarious, and ultimately completely original stuff....

mad respect

long live tim and eric

The only thing unattractive is how bland you are. Stick to your bumbling Jennifer Aniston rom cons. Less thinking means a better sleep for you come beddy time.

Calling Tim and Eric a show that requires "deep thinking" Is like saying Cloverfield was a true life, factual account of 9/11.

reply

It sticks with you after you see it, therefore you think about it.

reply

It's not simple to explain T & E's style of comedy, which I find to be hilarious and even genius at times, not even worth it really. Either you like it or you don't. I do have to laugh at all of the people who don't like it and seemingly waste a lot of their time trying to convince us that we shouldn't. Rats off to ya!

reply

LOL, that's another thing, they never talk about Tom Goes To The Mayor! That show gets a lot of *beep* too, but not as much as Awesome Show for some reason. I wonder why? I love TGTTM, though. TOMPY TIERS!
