TRUE EVENTS, PEOPLE ARE CRAZY

I can't Normally watch scary movies likes jason just the gore and stuff, but because its based on true events i want to see, because im always interested in what were people thinking when things like this happens

This prob isnt based on anything. Or its loosely based on a home invasion gone wrong. Movies can put based on true events even its not. Its just hype for the film. Now the movie called Snowflake town or something like that, which takes place in Australia, now thats based on true events of a crazy family that tortures and kills people and than puts their bodies in barrels.

well it's just called 'Snowtown'. They just re-named it for the US release.

Well whatever its called, thats based on true events! This, not so much. Reminds me of The Strangers years ago when it came out, everyone was like yeah its based on true events...yeah not really.

The current title is "Snowtown". You just have to check it on imdb to verify it, so yes it was hard to do, I know.

I always go with the original title. I don't endulge american obssession with short titles. I'm weird that way :)

Real quick marketing lesson for y'all:

1. Just because producers say it's based on true events doesn't mean it it.

2. In the real world, 7 people have stayed in a crummy motel and were uncomfortable in their shoddy digs -- that could very easily be the "true events" on which the movie is based.

Class dismissed.

I read up on the plot and got a lot of spoilers. But the people who run the motel have some type of grudge against the kids who are staying there. I think it's just a very exaggerated Hollywood version of a story that did happen, kind of like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
