Poor Thalia!

Am I seriously the only one who is sad that after being rescued from being a tree, Thalia ended up sacrificing her mortality, and is now cursed with eternal life?

The fact that she has to spend eternity with a band of man-hating shrews known as The Hunt makes it even worse.

She seems to like it. I mean, she chose to be immortal to escape an even worse fate (being the One). If she ever wanted out, she could always fall in love with a boy.

But Gandalf! I don't want to be a Hobbit~~

She's part of the Hunt. She's supposed to hate boys as she has sworn off men for eternity.

That's the point. If she didn't want to be a hunter any more then all she would have to do is fall in love.

reply

But she doesn't hate boys. Percy is still probably one of her closest friends then also her brother(HoO).

She knew that there was no hope of Luke turning good again, and she didn't want to be the one in the prophecy, and she was also picking a different god/ goddess over her dad as a way to sort of spite Zeus.

reply

And Percy isn't her brother. Jason is.

reply

Actually, Luke did turn good again. Also, I think Zandy was saying Percy AND her brother, but not really getting the grammer quite right :L Saying that though, she doesn't actually know that Jason is alive at that point.

reply

Yes I meant Percy and Jason. I didn't mean the point when she made the decision but after that she has her brother, Percy, and Grover.

This is interesting information but wouldn't this be considered a spoiler? Plus I have thought that eternal life would be a good thing. Although without knowing more about The Hunt it could be bad.

Immortality is a curse, because the people you love will grow old and die.

But that can happen without immortality. I think it is something you would simply adapt to.

Depends on the person. I wouldn't mind tbh. It be sad of course but just imagine how many people you will meet and learn. And how much history you will see. Of course it depends on the person.

reply

Gee. Thanks for spoiling that for me.
