Music, flamenco, sound effects, no dialogue ... all acting and great story-telling ... doesn't need dialogue, it is what it is.
Oh ... and the photography is breath-taking.

One of the differences between this as a silent and very early silents is that the characters are speaking, as in we see their lips moving and words being mouthed. So the acting differs from early silents where there was no pretence to be speaking.

Seems to me I've seen silent films in which the actors did indeed mouth their lines to the point that you could get a decent idea of what they were saying sometimes.
