Investors should be

ashamed. If I understand this whole thing, they announced the winner and then opened the restaurant almost immediately without any preparation.

So are we to believe that these professional food industry people would open one of their own restaurants in such a way.

Why not give this guy their full support and take 6 months to open, promote, work with the menu. Basically why not do everything for this guy that they would if their name was on the building.

I feel bad for this guy.

Has he come out and talked about the experience and why it failed and what support he had from these professionals?

Not many of the "ethnic" cuisines would have done well in these three markets they opened, IMO. True, the marketing sucked as well, but to put a "soul food" restaurant in those 3 locations? I've been to that Hollywood location (the actual location, not the restaurant) and that area is foo-foo to say the least. As for the other locations, Mall of America and some pier in NYC? Doesn't sound like a place anyone would go for Chicken & Waffles (...and that's one of the main points of why this failed, IMHO. It started off as chicken & waffles and ended up as some alternative healthy "soul food" place. They essentially took the soul out of his concept).

I agree, they should be ashamed, but they're all celebrity millionaires and could not care less I wager. IMO, they took several would-be competitors, made them change their concept, embarrassed them on national TV, and effectively shat on their dreams and put one guy totally out of business.
