The dumbest scene in this film.....

has to be when Erin notices there was a killer on the second floor, she flies out of the window. WTF? I know it's a film and she was safe but I thought that was a pretty dumb thing to do. What did others think?

reply

With her training and survival skills it was the right move. Erin realised the guy would probably kill her, so she threw herself out of the window to hide and attack later.

Dumbest scene for me was letting the sister run out for help when they have absolutely no idea who is out there, how many there are and what weapons they have.

The Dad really annoyed me when he let his ONLY DAUGHTER, HIS PRINCESS do it.

What is that thing you're using?.... It's technical.

reply

Lol! I thought that part was intentionally funny. Especially with the build up and slow motion. Then she barely makes it outside the door.

Daughter running outside was beyond stupid.

Another moment i didnt like from the killers point of view, was near the end when they were chasing erin outside (and she doubled back in through the window) and one of the killers notices the windows open and peeks his head through it? Really? What was he hoping to achieve?

reply

It's role reversal.

Typically the audience asks why the protagonists are doing what they're doing. The film is a black comedy, they intentionally twisted that cliche to fall onto the antagonists instead.

reply

The scene when they crossed the window by holding up chairs was stupid, why didnt they just crawl

reply

When they discovered the mother's body, they should have known the attacker got in the house and could still be there. Why would Kelly (the most frightened character in the previous scene) stay in the room alone and even go so far as to check under the bed by herself?

reply

Yes I thought that was a dumb move too. Safety in numbers and all that.
