Why were they wearing hoods

Not to mention the hoods/robes were meant to conceal identity which is pointless in the uninhabited wilderness, which is where they attacked.

That entire scene bothers me because of how inane it is. I found all the bickering about the eye holes obnoxiously daffy.

They're going to kill an officer of the court.

They were cowardly vigilantes.
