Did anybody find Django unlikable

This isn't a troll, I loved the film. However, I found Jamie Fox's performance in this film to be mediocre - not bad but not good. In my opinion I found His character to be far less interesting and impressive than Calvin or Dr.Schultz and even Stephen. I reckon a younger Denzel Washington or a younger Samuel L Jackson would have played the part a lot better. I'm glad Django got his revenge in the end and whatnot but yeah in my opioion Jamie fox wasn't really a highlight of this film. Anyone else feel the same?

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Just watched it for the first time today. I thought it sucked. The main protagonist was bland and only scraped together a small measure of pathos because of thirty seconds of flashbacks with his wife and because everyone else in the movie was an *beep* In addition, I am beginning to believe that every time someone says *beep* Tarantino gets a line of coke.

I couldn't agree more. I thought Django was a totally forgettable character and Christoph and Leo make this movie worth watching.

I don't know whether it was more about the writing than the acting, I just never really cared for his character or felt sympathy towards him. He had no personality or charisma. I think Tarantino wanted him to be a black version of Eastwood's Western characters; the quiet but brooding and cool ones, and it didn't work the same here.

Nope. He was very believable in the role. He gave a raw, gritty performance just like he should have.

Agreed

Agree with you. Solid film but Jamie Foxx seemed to be playing.....Jamie Foxx. Like he didn't create a character for the movie at all. A but too cocky and arrogant.

Ray and Collateral are proof Foxx can act, so maybe the roll just wasn't right for him or he and Tarantino didn't jive.

Didn't enjoy Jamie Foxx in this, but then again, I don't enjoy his acting in most of his films.

You do not like Black people so you're going to like that white people more in this film
